about the waitress

I live and work in San Diego. I live on a canyon and like to sit with my coffee and draw to the sound of wild parrots with lizards running past my feet with a snoring dog on my lap. In the summer I try to stay submerged. I save my junk mail all summer and burn it all winter. I waitress a fair amount. The notepads I use to take orders are often covered with crazy doodles and portraits because no one ever knows what they want to eat or drink and I like to maximize my doodle time while I stand there waiting. 

I began this blog as an outlet, an homage, and a communal place to share funny (all real) stories about people. I have another blog S H Y T E E T H which has more diverse work and examples of illustrations. I also have an Etsy SHOP here.
